The Rider on the Red Horse

Rider on the Red Horse

When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.”  Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.—Revelation 6:3-4

As I’m writing this, schools have shut down in the Los Angeles area. The reason? Someone simply e-mailed a bomb threat, and it appears to have come from overseas.

Just weeks ago we had yet another massacre, this time in San Bernardino, California. A seemingly harmless Muslim couple marched into an employee party of the husband’s coworkers and just started gunning them down. In the aftermath of the shooting, many public figures came out with sympathy statements that their “thoughts and prayers” were with those affected by the killings. Then the New York Daily News reacted to this outpouring of condolences in a rather shocking manner. The response of the paper was the headline, “God Isn’t Fixing This.”

The newspaper’s flawed belief is that somehow those giving the condolences could make tougher gun laws that would end these massacres. So they sent a message to the senators, congressmen, and others in authority that they need not expect their prayers to God to bring an end to the gun violence when they could enact laws that would do it. Unfortunately, it has been proven over and over again that such laws do no such thing.

It is interesting that in their arrogance against God, the New York Daily News has ironically spoken the truth. Yes, it’s true…God is allowing us to reap what we have sown. He’s not fixing it. Time and again God has sent us messengers to warn us as a nation that there will be no healing for our land unless we turn and repent, diligently seeking His face. Our nation and the nations of the world have not done so. On the contrary, the nations have removed God principles and laws for living from His place at the center of government and all other aspects of life. So now the clock is winding down and the prophesies of the Book of Revelation are beginning to activate. The seals are being broken. Indeed, God told us what was going to happen in these last days, and now it has begun…much to our inconvenience…and it’s going to get worse…the Rider of the Red Horse has come. No more sitting comfy while our soldiers go and fight and war is on the other side of the world. War has finally come to the USA like it never has before. Now war will gradually be everywhere.

For they are a nation void of counsel,
Nor is there any understanding in them.
29 Oh, that they were wise, that they understood this,
That they would consider their latter end!
30 How could one chase a thousand,
And two put ten thousand to flight,
Unless their Rock had sold them,
And the Lord had surrendered them?—Deuteronomy 32:28-30

Moses may have spoken these words as a warning to Israel about the danger of turning their backs on God but they ring true to us today. The most powerful and technologically advanced army in the world often finds a thousand of its soldiers unable to stop the brutal attack of one single terrorist! The reason is simple: “their Rock” has sold them out to their enemies. God was our Rock and we turned to Him in worship as a nation for so long. Now we turn to our armies to be our rock. They have no chance of winning against invisible enemies directing hordes of humans who are under their spell, bent on death and destruction. Invisible demon princes eagerly plan and carry out attack after attack around the world as angels of God in those same territories stand back and allow them to do it. Why? God’s divine purpose of redeeming souls often can only take place by bringing people to a “moment of crisis.” How much worse will it have to be before people get blasted—literally—out of their comfort zone and into a local house of worship to seek the Lord in humble repentance? Only time will tell. Meanwhile, the Rider on the Red Horse will continue to remove peace from every corner of our planet…
